Edgerton.Life's "Light KC Purple Project" presented by Oppenheimer, is an initiative to raise awareness and funds to help change the narrative of this horrific disease, Pancreatic Cancer.

The patient population that we have been fighting for since our inception is counting on us more than ever, and during the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic it is vital for our organization to continue our work and make a difference in the important battle against pancreatic cancer. During these unsettling times, we want to reinforce our commitment to our mission in bringing awareness, raising funds, and demanding better in relation to the prevention, detection, treatment and research of this horrific disease.

DETAILS:
The "Light KC Purple Project" is a multipronged initiative, starting on 11/01/2021 (November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month) and running until 11/19/2020 (World Pancreatic Cancer Day).

On 11/18/2020 (World Pancreatic Cancer Day)
Structures within the Kansas City Metro will be illuminated purple to help raise awareness of this disease: Union Station, Kauffman Center, City Hall, Downtown Marriott, Bartle Sky Stations, etc.

Our Story

The Edgerton.Life Pancreatic Cancer Foundation was established to carry on the work and the fight that our founder (Andrew Fletcher Edgerton) had originally waged.  Diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer at the age of 37 and given just months to live, he far exceeded estimates and fought relentlessly for nearly 2 years. In October of 2017, just 16 hours from his 40th birthday, Andy passed away. During his own treatment he choose to devote himself to something larger than just himself, by educating others about the disease, by shining the spotlight on his own story and by creating a mission to build a resource to make the path easier for those who would come after him. Thus, the foundation was born.
